Part wine, part snow cone, entirely the reason people turn off the highway in Camino. Meet the signature drink of Morton Family Cellars.
$14 per glass · $12 refills · 10% ABV
Our frozen wine slushie is exactly what it sounds like and better than it has any right to be: real wine, frozen into a fruity, frosty glass that disappears alarmingly fast on a warm Sierra Foothills afternoon. At 10% alcohol by volume, it's a proper wine pour wearing a summer costume — refreshing enough for the patio, serious enough that you'll want the $12 refill.
Ask our guests how they found us, and a surprising number say the same thing: they were driving through Apple Hill, spotted the wine-slushie sign by the road, and decided on the spot to find out what that meant. Guest reviews tell the story over and over — the spontaneous pull-over that turned into a favorite stop. We didn't plan for a roadside sign to become our most effective marketing, but we're not arguing with the results.
Once a year, the slushie gets its own holiday. Slushy Saturday brings $2 off slushies all day, live music from Doug from Crossing Autumn, tacos by Valenz, and lawn games on the patio. If you're going to try your first one, that's the day to do it.
The slushie's natural habitat is a table on our patio with the vineyard view in front of you — ideally after a morning on the Apple Hill farm trail. Bring your own picnic (encouraged!), claim some shade, and let the afternoon slow down.
Here's the thing about the slushie: it's the gateway. The same family that freezes your afternoon treat also makes naturally fermented Zinfandel, Barbera, and Cabernet Franc from El Dorado County fruit — the full lineup is on our wine list, and the philosophy behind it is on our natural wine page. Plenty of guests pull over for a slushie and drive home with a case.
Wine club members get 20% off slushies (and everything else regularly priced), plus free tastings for themselves and up to three guests — details on the wine club page. Visiting for the first time? Our plan-your-visit guide covers hours, directions, and the best seasons to come.
$14 per glass, and refills are $12. Wine club members get 20% off, like they do on all regularly priced items.
10% alcohol by volume — real wine strength in frozen form. It drinks easy on a hot patio, so pace yourself accordingly.
They're a spring, summer, and fall staple at the tasting room — peak season is a warm afternoon on the patio during an Apple Hill visit. Ask when you visit; if the machine is spinning, you're in luck.
Our annual celebration of the slushie — Saturday, July 11, 2026, with $2 off slushies all day, live music by Doug from Crossing Autumn, tacos by Valenz, and lawn games on the patio.
